I was really baffled by my experience as a patient today. The clinician I saw today (who didn't not even introduce herself) was very rude to me. She blamed most of my issues on nail varnish and the odd perfumed moisturers I very rarely use, which I tried to tell her. She came to this hypothesis before I'd even talked about my issues. At the end, she looked at me and assumed I didn't pay for my prescriptions. She (rudely) seemed surprised when I told her I pay for mine. She never smiled, not once. She had an incredibly rude tone and would interrupt me. She didn't listen to what I needed to say about the problems I'd had with my skin, for many many years and all the things I had already tried. Sometimes she was patronising with her language and tone, e.g. "has no one ever old you that?!"I work for the NHS and have done for many years, and I have never come across a professional so rude to a patient. I would never dream of treating a patient in such a way and giving them such an attitude. I'm a thirty year old professional woman and I was spoken to like I was perhaps to her just a silly girl wasting her time who should not be there. The rest of the staff there who I saw and spoke to on the way in were friendly and polite. I will be requesting a different person to see me next time.
