"NHS 24 and Out of hours urgent care Fife"

My son had a nasty earache. We had to call NHS24. Yes there was a decent wait, but Daria the call handler was excellent and was reassuring and friendly and checked in with me when her handover to the nurse took longer than expected. The nurse, Gillian, was prompt and efficient and arranged an appointment at our local Urgent Care. Although the appt was 2330 they apologised for the late timing and the staff there were also excellent and efficient. My son felt reassured and has been given appropriate treatment. Well done to all.

Thanks for sharing your experience on Care Opinion. I’m so sorry to learn of your son’s earache, which I know can be hugely painful. I hope he is doing much better.

I see you had to wait a while for your call to us to be answered. I am sorry for this. There are times unfortunately when, due to the demand for our service, calls can take longer to answer than we would like. Once through however, I’m pleased Daria was reassuring and friendly. Also great to see that our clinical staff member, Gillian, was efficient and arranged onward care.

It’s great to see that your son felt reassured and was given the appropriate treatment.
