"Local primary care access extended, thank goodness"

About: Hyde PCN The Brooke Surgery

(as a service user),

I've a old complaint - potentially serious - that has been starting to flare up, and I knew I needed to seek advice.

Ideally I'd have seen the same GP who treated me last autumn. But I was finding it was tricky to get a GP appointment at my local surgery and was getting worried, with a holiday approaching. It felt increasingly urgent. So it was just brilliant to get a text this week telling me that our area, Healthy Hyde, had set up a new weekend access arrangement at a surgery in a nearby town.

I called this morning as directed and was (a) pleased to get through and (b) delighted to get given an afternoon appointment. It' was just great to get a same day physician associate appointment - with full access to my medical records - to ensure that I was ok to self manage for now and to get a management plan in place. I'm a bit sad to lose the continuity of care, and I am fortunate to have no transport issues so that I can attend a surgery further afield. But I was just dreading the need to call 111 and to be sent to A&E, so really pleased to have avoided all that! #ThankYouHealthyHyde

My only suggestion: can you please take a look at upgrading the sound quality of the music on your phone queue system. It was really dodgy when I called, and seemed almost designed to exacerbate stress!
