"Treated with kindness and respect for urodynamics procedure"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Urology (Ward 11c)

(as the patient),

I had Helen and Agnus looking after me during the urodynamics procedure.

Unfortunately, the catheterization was too painful to complete the test but I really appreciated the care of both ladies throughout. They explained everything thoroughly and really did their best but ultimately they decided to stop due to the pain I was experiencing (which I appreciated as I really wanted to cooperate but it was getting too intense).

I was really disappointed I couldn't get it done and felt bad I'd wasted everyone's time but they continually reassured me that it was no problem, not to worry and something else would get sorted out. They also said that they would contact the Urologist to let him know what happened.

I can't even express how grateful I was/am to be treated with such kindness and respect. I've had several pretty horrible experiences in the past where I've been treated quite badly and roughly during procedures but the compassion, professionalism and care of these ladies really made all the difference to my experience at the clinic, despite the fact it was painful.

Thank you so much for looking after me so well and sorry about the palaver!

Dear violetyc37

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback in regards to your experience of attending the Urology Department of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

I was sorry to hear you were unable to complete your urodynamics procedure due to the pain. I was however, really glad to hear you were provided with the support and compassion you deserve from our staff in what must have been a really difficult situation.

I understand you will be disappointed you were unable to complete the procedure but please don't think you wasted anyone's time. These things can happen.

I have passed on your thanks to the staff who have asked me to thank you for your kind words. This really means a lot to the staff.

Kind regards

Kevin
