From start to finish my admission to Ward 32 RAH I was continually treated with respect and digity but most of all care and kindness.
In pre-assesment both Nursing and medical staff were very informative and provided written information to refer back to.
When I was admitted two days later the process was quick and seemless and although familiar with the hospital environment I still appreciated the time taken to explain all aspects of the process again.
Nikki , Ann and all the team were very kind, caring and professional, including the chatty lady from domestic services, this makes all the difference to patients.
Quickly after admission I was ready for theatre, all staff here were supportive and understanding, especially with what I thought was my well hidden anxiety. Nothing was too much of a bother and thanks once again to the anaesthetic nurses for holding my hand literally.
In recovery I was met with so many excellent examples of care from the Nurses. Dr Naheed also explained her interim findings which was great when there is always a wait for the fully confirmed results and to be given information immediately post procedure was re-assuring .
Although there are too many names to mention but to all Nursing, Medical, Anaesthetics, porters in all areas my care was second to none . I felt in very safe hands.
Throughout I was met with smiles, kindness, understanding even a little laugh now and then. This all helps to keep you focused and relaxed as a patient, but most of all it is a measure of the dedication and the nature of the staff within the RAH who, despite the present daily challenges managed to make what was a stressful time where I had been anxiously awaiting an appointment for urgent biopsy for nearly 6 months, more bearable.
