"A really efficient and friendly dermatology service"

About: West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital (Yorkhill) / Dermatology

I was absolutely delighted by the Dermatology service I received recently. 

After 5 minutes of being in the waiting room I was called to see Dr Parkins who was so welcoming. He listened to every one of my concerns, did an exam, suggested a treatment route, gave great explanations (even drawing pictures) and to my great surprise, all of the treatment I could have that day.

I was then handed over to a super chatty and friendly nurse who took bloods and then took me to medical photography. Pictures were then taken and I was then taken to a waiting room for my procedures.

I was in the waiting room no more than 10 minutes, when I was taken in for my 2 procedures. The two nurses (I am sad to say I can't remember their names), were again so welcoming and put my at ease. They explained everything, gave me time to ask and have my questions answered. They then carried out both procedures while we chatted and laughed the entire time.

I then went back to reception to pick up my prescription and make follow up appointments, only to find out that my appointment letter had already been posted while I was in surgery.

From start to finish this experience is exactly what you would want all encounters in the NHS to be. I was put at ease, everything was explained so well, I had the opportunity to ask questions, it was super efficient and all of the staff were so friendly and welcoming.

I do hope the team get to read this, as I am so grateful for such a great experience that could have been a scary one.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. I am glad that everything was explained well to you and that you had the opportunity to ask any questions. I am glad to hear that you had everything carried out on the day and it was not as scary as you thought it could be
