"Access to vaccinations"

About: NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as the patient),

I feel really let down by NHSGGC.  I am immunocompromised and haven't received a pneumococcal vaccine since the contract was taken away from the GP. 3 years without vaccination when it should be every year. NHSGGC seem to have taken a decision to only vaccinate those over 65 and disregard the care of anyone else. They then top this off with making it impossible to contact anyone about it and want complaints in writing by post.

Dear Unvaccinated

Thanks for getting in touch and I am sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with your vaccination. The pneumococcal vaccine is available to people over 65 and for people with certain health conditions including immunosuppression. I have spoken to a colleague from the Vaccination Team and they have advised that they will be offering appointments for people who are under the age of 65 in July and August.

If you can get in touch with your personal details (name and date of birth), I can pass these to the Vaccination Team. If you can email PatientExperience@ggc.scot.nhs.uk

Thank you

Nicole
