My wife was admitted into hospital on 01/07/13 after a bad fall broke her leg resulting in the bone showing. She underwent an emergency operation on monday morning b4 being taken back to the ward and the care of the nursing staff there. The degree of proffessional care was outstanding with the attentive care staff being polite friendly curtious and able to answer questions put to them by both myself and my wife. The long hours and hard work over the next couple of days did not diminish once and what started out as a harrowing experience turned into a 5 star+++++ of excellence in care by all involved. We hear more about the negative remarks of peoples stays in hospital so is nice to give posative remarks. Another area we would like to give praise to is house keeping.. What a truely lovely/kind/hard working group these people are. Two people my wife got to meet was who were housekeepers and foodservers whilst she was there and she has not stopped heaping praise on both these people since returning home. I think that if we owned a hotel or bed and breakfast both these two would of been headhunted by my wife. Praise also for the 2 paramedic units that was called to our home for the work they done under duress by a patient in excruciating agony ( not mentioning no names ) and also the a+e department for their hard work and care of my wife.. I would like to say Thank You from both my wife and myself to everyone who works at Derriford for the great job they do which is not for the pay they receive but because they truelly care for other people
