"Excellent care in the Emergency Department"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

On Saturday, I started to feel very unwell, wheezy, chesty. It hurt to breathe, I was coughing uncontrollably. Was taken to the Emergency Department and was seen immediately, literally with no wait. I was taken to Resus where I was kept overnight with a very high heart rate, crackling chest, loud wheeze and overall pretty bad numbers. The care was amazing, fast, thorough and the treatment worked immediately. After one night and half a day of nebulisers, steroids and antibiotics, I feel back to my old, healthy self.

I cannot stress how great they were, the doctor and nurse wouldn't take their eyes off me, but were very reassuring, calming, professional.

Our NHS Scotland is invaluable, we need to support it.

Thanks again to the Team ED in Ayr Hospital.

Dear Ayr ED Patient

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to share your lovely feedback following your recent visit to the Emergency Department at University Hospital Ayr.

The staff in the Emergency Department were delighted to receive this and it was really encouraging for them to know that you felt so well supported and reassured during what must have been a very frightening experience.

Please accept my good wishes for your ongoing recovery.

Kind Regards

Pamela
