Got referred to the cpn through my doctor because I was suicidal and badly struggling, which gave me some hope that I would get the support I've needed for so long. Went to my app to be put in a room with two people without being asked which I found quite intimidating and I don't like confrontation so couldn't say anything about it. At this point my anxiety was through the roof. Got asked a load of questions (that anyone without qualifications could ask).
Basically had a conversation about my feelings then gave a number to call if I came home and felt suicidal. No help at all and I left crying feeling worse than I did before I went in. The only reason I didn't commit suicide is because my friends have had to come and stay to make sure I'm OK until I can phone my doctor on Monday.
I think the staff need to realise because someone can leave the house and isn't sitting looking like death doesn't mean they don't feel suicidal or wont carry it out. It's if your face fits, I felt so judged and embarrassed that I even went down there and expressed how I felt to be sent away with a phone number and no actual support. I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone, I believe I would be better getting support elsewhere. Sorry for the bad review but things need to change.
