"Delayed MRI after A&E at East Surrey Hospital"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

After 2 visits to A&E and finally getting a diagnosis that I have a prolapsed disc in my neck. I was told by A&E that they were discharging me and to make sure that my GP arranges an MRI as soon as possible.

I now find that my GP cannot arrange this MRI directly but has to go through another team. This involves letters and waiting time. My GP asked if the hospital had arranged an outpatient appointment for the MRI to be done at the hospital.

I am at a loss to understand any of this craziness and delay.
