I'm feeling rather frustrated and I'm writing this on behalf of my mother-in- law because I don't know what else to do.
Back in September 2021 my mother-in-law thought she was having a heart attack with a heart rate of 210 and climbing. The ambulance came and took her to hospital where she was diagnosed with Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT).
A&E were great and referred her to cardiology and she is now waiting for a consultant to review her. She still has had no contact from the consultant and has suffered a further 3 attacks since the first time. Every time it happens she needs to attend A&E, further medication to bring her heart rate down as it doesn't not stop on its own.
She is now just left anxiously waiting for the next episode to occur and to be told by her GP and A&E staff there's nothing anyone can do to help until a consultant has been in touch.
She is currently on no medication to help avoid these attacks until she has been reviewed and is in constant fear of it happening again and the long term affects that this will have on her health.
I understand that there is a waiting list, however she can't go on having these attacks in the meantime with no hope or advice or for what her future holds or long term solutions.
It's not good enough and leaves her at vulnerable and risk.
