My daughter has been experiencing stomach ache for the last few years. Recently her bloods came back showing coeliac. Dr Armstrong paeds at Crosshouse redid the tests, offered good advice and referred her to Glasgow Children’s Hospital after her second tests came back for an endoscopy. She only waited a few weeks for an appointment and went as a day case and was under the expertise of Dr Hansen, who we have had first hand experience of before.
The staff within Glasgow Children’s Hospital were polite, helpful and professional and a credit to our NHS. Dr Hansen phoned within a fortnight to give the results of coeliac disease and to refer back to Crosshouse Hospital for continued treatment.
Hazel the dietician phoned within a week of diagnosis and had an appointment ready for the next day. Hazel was fantastic at explaining the condition and diet requirements moving forward and providing the relevant prescription paperwork for her gluten free diet. I know the NHS across the board are under extreme pressure but I can not fault the care my daughter has received, the commitment from staff and the outstanding response times. Well done NHSAA and NHSGG a true testimony of partnership working - top job.
