"My results haven't been read yet"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Radiology

(as the patient),

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for results to be read and acted on by a doctor? I had an MRI scan and was told I would get my results within 10 days, it's close to 3 weeks now and when I call the hospital they tell me the doctor hasn’t yet read my results, but it has been marked as urgent.

I wish someone who I could speak with could tell me the results over the phone, as I struggle with the post in my area. Sometimes we don’t get any post.
