This Practice has treated me like royalty and I want to thank them for undertaking additional Menopause Training and helping women like me.
I was experiencing may minor health concerns which, individually, I would not have visited my GP to resolve.
My employer invited me to attend 4 x weekly group sessions regarding Menopause Awareness and I was shocked to find how many symptoms there were and how many related to my own health concerns - I was not insane!
I was also saddened to hear how my Colleagues were struggling to get their GP to understand that they did not want Anxiety Medication nor Anti Depressants they wanted HRT. I believe that Menopause is covered in approximately a half day session for GP Training and this explains why GPs are taking additional training to help women.
I expected a battle so, to be understood, I listed all the symptoms, graded them 0-10 on how they affected my life, I took them list to an Appointment with the Nurse Practioner who was so lovely and understanding and explained that I did not feel the severity necessitated HRT just yet but wanted advice so I could be better prepared. I received the advice and was given an open invitation to return.
A short while later I had a Telephone Consultation where I received a great deal of information and was referred to the GP for a Prescription.
I had a Telephone Appointment with a Female GP who explained her recommendation which I agreed to try.
A month later I had a Follow Up with a Male GP who, surprisingly, was just a lovely and knowledgeable as the Nurse and Female GP.
We agreed to continue with thos option with an open invitation to discuss at anytime.
Sadly I have suffered some uncommon skin irritation from the adhesive on the patches recently but after a Telephone Consultation with another Male GP we are looking to find something more suitable.
I cannot thank this Practice enough for their dedication to helping women with Menopause and for the care they have provided to me in this matter and many other instances.
I do believe that, had I paid privately, I would not have received any better quality of care.
