"Daughter’s visit to Children’s Assessment Unit"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a service user),

My daughter got referred to the Children's Assessment unit  to see the paediatric team from our GP.

She was examined by the nurse on arrival and then by a junior doctor.  The registrar then asked if my daughter could be assessed by medical students for their assessment, which we agreed to.

Every single member of staff we came across treated my girl with care and love and we felt truly valued by the team.  She is still talking about the staff member who gave us our lunch and who sang her a wee song when she did so - small things mean the biggest!

Luckily we were allowed home to complete treatment there but since then have had follow up calls to make sure we were on the right medications etc.

Thank you so much to you all, you all do an amazing job!

Dear PLCLG14

Thank you for your lovely message. I hope your daughter is making a recovery and doing ok. I will pass on your message to the teams in paediatrics and they will be delighted that they made your daughters experience a positive one

best wishes
