"Compassionate care with dignity and respect"

About: Bristol Royal Infirmary / Cardiology

(as the patient),

Last week I was discharged from Bristol Royal Infirmary following surgery to fit a defibrillator (S-ICD) inside my body as a result of Ventricular Tachycardia. During my stay I was on ward C705 in the Bristol Heart Institute where I received excellent care from the team.

The wards were clean and well maintained and the nursing staff were supportive, kind, friendly and understanding. The meals were good each day and the staff always aimed to provide you with a fulfilled food order based on your dietary requirements and preferences.

As I am in my thirties, the vast majority of the patients on the wards were older adults, some of who had complex issues including dementia. The nursing staff were truly sublime in catering for these individuals and I witnessed some excellent care, compassion and dignity in helping these patients to get better.

C705 does need more nursing staff and assistants on the ward, however, the staff they do currently have work tirelessly and are extremely skilled at their jobs. Please continuously praise and reward them.
