Having taken a heavy fall on an icy pavement I called NHS 24 who advised me to make my way to Hairmyres A&E department. I was in agony and, with all the bad news on TV about our NHS, I arrived with low expectations.
I just wish a TV crew could visit Hairmyres A&E department and meet some of the most remarkable people who are doing an outstandingly good job in the most challenging circumstances.
The staff were faultless in their cheerful and compassionate professionalism.
I do hope Hairmyres can keep Dr Cash as a Consultant for many years to come. She is an exemplar of professionalism, clinical expertise and outstanding emotional intelligence.
Pamela - the nurse who administered analgesia and may also have put in my cannula was brilliant.
Amie - clinical support - was a gentle reassuring presence as she did observations.
Lydia’s bright cheerfulness is a lovely presence in the department
Kayla - thanks also for sorting me out with the crutches
South Lanarkshire should be so proud of the genuine centre of excellence.
Thanks to everyone.
"Remarkable people doing an outstandingly good job"
