I am a 54yr old who has lived with a chronic, complex mental health diagnosis since 1997. Since my diagnosis I was under the care of my previous Mental Health Team for 26 yrs until recently where a transfer of Care was made, to Auchinlea Resource Centre.
I have no complaint regarding the care I received whilst at my previous practice.
1. Staff were accessible.
2. Compassionate
3. Understanding
4. Would take the time to get to know patients and see them as individual human beings and not just their diagnosis
5. Would return calls when arranged
6. Treated patients with respect
However there has been a change in the service provided by Auchinlea resource centre.
1. Poor communication, including failure to return calls
2. Cannot access a meeting with staff to discuss my care/treatment
3. I have not been met in person by staff despite the team making decisions on my care
4. I feel a lack of compassion or understanding.
All of the above issues have a detrimental impact on peoples Mental Health
I have no idea why I'm finding such a difference in the duty of care by this service provider but it seriously needs to be looked at.
