"Dermatologist department is a disaster"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

I was told by my GP I require a skin biopsy for my severe urticaria/photosensitivity/UVRays sensitivity.when I attended they took a biopsy off my face and arm which was extremely painful. I had to chase the results myself as the dermatologist clearly missed this or couldn’t be bothered. When I got the results the findings were incorrect, irrelevant and pointless. I then went back to my GP regarding this. They spoke to the dermatologist and she was clueless as what to do next. I then asked my GP to kindly refer me to a more experienced dermatologist in another hospital as NPH Dermatologist are clueless and have zero experience. Thankfully after nearly 2 years I was referred to Guy as they diagnosed the problem immediately and gave the relevant equipment to carry out a more accurate test and diagnosis. Thank goodness I’m now in the hands of experienced dermatologists.
