"I felt very well looked after by everyone"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as the patient),

They say the NHS is broken, but after the help and treatment I have had recently I totally disagree.

Yesterday evening I fell outside on the pavement in Montrose and sustained an injury to my cheek and wrist. I self medicated last night, but decided to get things checked out this morning. When I phoned NHS 111, both the telephone operator and triage nurse were kind and helpful and guided me to Arbroath Infirmary for an appointment with the Minor Injuries Clinic.

There I saw a polite and caring team of receptionist, nurse and radiologist who carried out their duties extremely well.

I’m to have some follow up treatment which has been organised. All in all I felt very well looked after by everyone.

Dear Mon2121

I'm so sorry to learn of your fall. It sounds a nasty one which I'm sure would have left you shaken. I hope you are doing well.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience on Care Opinion. All staff who cared for you sound great. Well done to each every one of them. It's clear you felt cared for and reassured with follow up care planned.

I'm pleased to see your kind words of our staff here at NHS 24 who you describe as kind and helpful. Should you care to share any further detail about your call to 111, then it would be great to hear directly from you. This would also mean I could identify the staff who managed your call and share your story with them. You can call me on 07814 299944 or email at Patient.Experience@nhs24.scot.nhs.uk

Take care meantime and give yourself time to recover from your ordeal.

Regards

Shona
