"Children’s ward - Forth Valley"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Children's Ward Forth Valley Royal Hospital / GP Out of Hours NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a parent/guardian),

We called 111 in the evening for our four year old. We were given an appointment at out of hours within one hour and the ANP we saw there (Kirstene) was brilliant with our daughter and very thorough. We were sent to the children’s ward for assessment and then admitted. All staff on the ward (Jan and Shannon in particular) were absolutely brilliant with her. We felt really well looked after and that even though staff were busy, they didn’t ever rush and they spent a lot of time with us reassuring our daughter (and us!).

Dear ariesjd85

I am sorry to learn your four year old Daughter was unwell which must have been an extremely worrying time for you. I do hope your daughter is now well.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such heartfelt feedback, it sounds as though all staff involved did an exceptional job, especially ANP Kirstene at he Out Of Hours Service and Jan and Shannon on the ward. I see NHS Forth Valley have responded to you in respect to their feedback.

I’m very pleased to read that NHS 24 were also involved in your daughter’s positive care journey. As a parent myself, I know first-hand the worry and stress a parent is under when a child is unwell and having caring and professional health staff involved really does help.

We like to share the feedback we receive from our Care Opinion stories with our staff to enable them to see the appreciation they receive from patients and callers. If you would like to contact me with further detail, I would be delighted to hear from you. You can call me on 07814 299944 or by email at Patient. Experience@:nhs24.scot.uk.

Thanks again and best wishes.

Shona

Dear ariesjd85

We are sorry your daughter was unwell and hope she is recovering now.

Thankyou so much for your kind feedback regarding our clinician, it is really nice to hear and we will make sure she sees this.

There are so many challenges in healthcare just now and our Team work hard to try and provide patient centred care.

Wishing you and your family our best.

Kind regards.
