"An exceptionally run practice"

There is a large focus on the negatives in the press at the moment and the usual comparisons to England being worse, I would like to take the time out to share positive feedback and suggest rather than comparing ourselves with poorer performing health care, we take the lead and use our good practices to help less good performing practices.

The GP practice at Waverley Medical Practice in Coatbridge is run exceptionally. I had the same single GP for 38 years and it closed unexpectedly, I was transferred to Waverley which was a much larger practice and it worried me I wouldn't get the correct personal care.

Nightmare stories about appointments and receptionists wanting all your information before you get a doctor, none of that happens at Waverley. Do not forget, in the West of Scotland we often do not let the truth get in the way of a great story.

Yes, there is a queue when you call and there is clear information when you call which tells you where you are in the queue, sometimes the wait is longer than others, sometimes there is no wait, but I doubt I have ever waited longer than 20 minutes.

I get put through to a GP with great efficiency and passed on to a face-to-face appointment if required, my care is always taken seriously and explained in great detail. Dr Marcuccilli is a well known name in Coatbridge for many years, and I now have the pleasure of having this Doctor attend to my health personally. He has an exceptional approach, and as a lead partner I suggest this is why they have many like minded Doctors. Recruitment of like minded doctors is clearly important as the GPs are outstanding, yes outstanding.

Without going on too much about how great the Waverley Medical Practice is, I would strongly suggest you benchmark how they do things and what makes them so efficient. I have looked at their staff page on their website and I do not know how many staff per patient and the cost, but I would think if the partners wanted to make money, they could make more with a less efficient running surgery. I do not know if they choose patients over profit and that is the difference or it's just really well run, but I suggest you take a look in this negative time and share best practice. I would suggest Dr Marcuccilli is recognised for his contribution to the people of Coatbridge, and indeed to Scotland, as well as the team at Waverley Medical Practice.

Let's not forget the good work that is being done in the midst of the mess we see daily on our news.
