"A great team effort"

I took my little girl to A&E as she has a bleeding disorder and she was bleeding. On arrival she became very poorly. The receptionist assisted me to get the help she needed immediately, then all staff - doctors/nurses -  attended to her without delay.

The care and attention she received was exceptional. The paediatrician came from Children’s Ward and stayed with us whilst my daughter was monitored. She liaised with Glasgow Hospital to come up with the best plan. The plan changed a few times that day, but always to keep my daughter as safe as possible. My daughter required factor treatment and a blood transfusion before being transferred to Glasgow.

2 nurses from Children’s Ward came to A&E to administer this and supervise - again providing excellent care. During this they continued to reassure me that the transfusion was working and helping my daughter. Once she was stable enough to travel, the paramedics then provided fantastic care in transferring us to Glasgow.

I can’t thank all of the staff enough within Forth Valley. A great team effort was evident and the care and attention was exceptional. I truly am grateful. I did not catch any names to personally thank, but hopefully this message will filter through to each and every one of them, especially during this challenging time. Thank you.
