After being referred by my GP I received my fast track appt within 2 weeks for Sunday am at 9 o'clock. I had the procedure under sedation (which I recommend) and was dealt with efficiently and courteously by Dr Vinod and the nursing staff. Diagnosed with duodenitis (ulcer), I was advised to return to my GP to check on the medication that had been previously prescribed. I did this the next day.
During this consultation, I mentioned that I had had blood in my stools on the Friday before the test and that my piles may or may not have been the cause. My GP advised a referral for a colonoscopy and I was sent for Friday am the same week by the hospital to see the consultant Mr K. Muhammed. Following examination, I was recommended for the colonoscopy to be followed by a referral to another doctor who specialises in the halo or the treatment of piles.
The following Monday, I received a phonecall from the endoscopy unit to attend in two days time for the investigation at 11 am. Whilst the procedure is embarrassing and uncomfortable at times, I was again looked after and dealt with in the same courteous and professional manner as I had on my first visit. It revealed that I had a couple of polyps (removed and sent for analysis) and diverticulitis. I am now awaiting a CT scan as a hopefully final check on my health and well being. I feel I should commend and thank all the staff that have provided me with first class treatment and care so far. They are a credit to the NHS.
"Quick referral to endoscopy outpatient and excellent care"
