(as a service user),

I have an impaired immune system, so when I tested positive for covid I phoned the NHS Lothian help line at 09:30 for possible prescription of antivirals. I gave my details to a helpful person who said that a pharmacist would phone me if I qualified. A pharmacist phoned me at 10:26, assessed my case, and talked me through the pros and cons very clearly. She told me which pharmacy would issue the antivirals and by lunchtime I had the drugs.

An excellent service and a reassuring process.

I'm glad to hear that you were able to access the help you needed quickly and that the process was both efficient and reassuring for you. Having an impaired immune system can be especially difficult during a pandemic, so it's important that you were able to get the treatment you needed promptly. It sounds like the Pharmacist you spoke with was thorough in her assessment and clear in her explanations, which is also great. Fantastic that you had the required medication by lunchtime!

Great to see the name you have used to tag your story also! Keeping fit is hugely important so well done for being proactive in attempting to maintain good health.
