I have recently had the pleasure of meeting Leigh, a speech and language therapist based at Condorrat Health Centre.

My daughter was referred by school and has been seen by speech and language for various assessments. As a parent, I was quite anxious after being told about the referral for my daughter, but after meeting Leigh, she really reassured me, listened, and took on board everything we had to say.

Leigh was amazing with my daughter and explained the process and assessments in a way in which she could properly understand. Leigh also put me at ease and was very understanding from the beginning and throughout. Leigh also provided advice and guidance on ways in which we could support my daughter going forward. 

Leigh provided an exceptional service, providing excellent communication throughout, and answering any questions we had. 

I can't thank her enough for all the support. Leigh is a credit to the Speech and Language team.

Speech and language therapy provides treatment, support and care for children and adults who have difficulties with communication, or with eating, drinking and swallowing.

It can be a worrying time for parents and I am pleased to hear that you felt reassured after meeting Leigh. I hope your story helps other parents as well.
