My mother and father are 86 and 87 respectfully. At the end of November my father collapsed taking my mother with him. They were both taken by ambulance to Birmingham City Hospital, Dudley Road. My mother was treated in A&E for a fractured wrist and head injury and discharged home. My father was admitted and in hospital for 10 days. Subsequently he was admitted overnight to Sandwell Hospital for a different condition.
I would like to thank the many staff who looked after both of them. Their caring and kindness during a period of high pressure in the NHS was exceptional.
