My brother has been an inpatient at Ealing Hospital on 2-3 occasions over the past 6 weeks or so - he was discharged earlier today.
My brother suffers from a mix of ailments including epilepsy, high blood pressure and a form of dementia.
Whilst I am extremely grateful for staff in A&E and 6 South ward for their expertise and help over recent admissions, this note is to bring to your attention the excellent service from Annika, lead from your Patient Experience team and Alexandra, Matron from your Dementia Team.
Annika is excellent - she is a great listener, empathises and is brilliant at managing up and down with the hospital providing me (the patient’s relative) with a route to feedback concerns and compliments to the right people to get things done.
Annika and her team have also provided daily feedback as to the reactions from my brother to my daily messages and accompanying photos.
Alexandra has taken personal responsibility to ensure that ward staff are aware that my brother suffers from Dementia - my understanding is she is ordinarily based at Northwick Park but on those occasions where she has found herself at Ealing, she has gone to my brother’s ward spoke with staff and spent a little time with my brother.
I believe that Annika and Alexandra and their respective teams have gone way beyond the job here and I ask you to pass on my personal thanks.
I hope your CEO takes note and passes on their own congratulations for providing this quite exceptional service.
Please look after people like Annika and Alexandra - they are an absolute credit to the NHS.
Thank you all.
"Staff compliments"
