About: North Devon District Hospital / Cardiology

(as a carer),

Brought in by ambulance after ICD delivered a shock at 11: 15 this morning. Saw Dr in A&E and had ICD interrogated. Both said I need to see cardiologist. Transferred to MAU and left...finally saw an FY1 who asked lots of questions but didn't really have any idea what was next.

Said that she too would chase up the cardiologist. And still no word on plan, are we staying, are we seeing cardiologist or anything.

No communication at all. Have asked several times and no one knows. Great patient communication and a great way to ease patient anxiety when they have had an ICD deliver a shock due to ACS!

Thank you for taking the time to add your comments to the website. I was sorry to learn that you were disappointed with the levels of communication surrounding your onward care after transferring to MAU, and would like to apologise for any upset caused at what was obviously a very worrying time for you.
