I was admitted into Stepping Hill in December and was soon diagnosed with Influenza A. I spent four nights in hospital, over 24 hours of which in A&E.
On entering A&E I was seen swiftly by a lovely nurse called Helen. I then received most of my care from a man called Paddy. I would like to pass on my deepest thanks to Paddy for his kindest and brilliant care. I felt he listened intently to my concerns and was very understanding. I was particularly worried as I had developed ketones (due to being Type 1 diabetic) and I'm 6 months pregnant.
Nothing seemed to be too much hassle for Paddy. He came to see me several times throughout his shift, even though A&E was extremely busy. He swiftly found me a bed and explained different tests, results and next steps clearly. I told Dr Bell (my endocrinologist) that I felt as though I was Paddy's only patient, which I obviously wasn't!
Please can you pass on my heartfelt thanks to Paddy and wish him a merry Christmas, and a happy new year.
"A great experience in A&E"
