"Unprofessional reception staff"

About: West Street Surgery

My family and I have been at this practice for many years. Overall, the doctors and nurses are generally ok. However, the reception staff are almost always rude and have no patience. I have no idea why, but reception staff speak down to patients, they are often condescending and show no empathy. Reading some of the comments, it seems that this is a common recurrence and patients at this practice would be tremendously grateful if reception staff could be nicer, more courteous and treat patients with dignity. We know the NHS is under awful pressures but showing kindness does not take much more time. Please could further training be provided to ensure professionalism is retained with reception staff?

West Street Surgery welcomes patient feedback, both positive and negative as it provides a valuable insight into our services from the patient’s perspective and can inform service improvement.

Our Reception Team is constantly striving to help our patients and although there are some negative feedback there is also a huge amount of praise for the Reception Team. They work tirelessly under immense pressure so unfortunately there may be an off day and I can only apologise if you felt they were not as patient as you would have liked.
