"Mum's TIA - amazing service"

About: General Practices in Grampian Scottish Ambulance Service

(as a relative),

My mother has had first class treatment since having a potential small stroke. Linda at the Links Medical Practice in Aberdeen was lovely and arranged for a GP to phone us back. Within an hour my mum had spoken to her GP and after consulting with another GP, arranged for the paramedics to come in and assess her with the possibility of needing to be admitted.

They were very efficient and full of banter that put us all at ease. They are facing extreme pressures at the moment -  and indeed they were a Peterhead crew, I know one of them was called Dave .

My mum would like to thank the Ambulance  Service and the Links Medical Practice for their efficient service. She is now awaiting an urgent head scan and has been in touch with the stroke consultant the very next day. Amazing service, thanks to you all.

Dear RollyMaC

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read that your mum required the Services of the Ambulance Service and the wider NHS Scotland and I do hope that she is feeling much better now.

It is always really pleasing to hear such lovely feedback about our crews. They are working so hard in such challenging circumstances as you say. Being full of banter is always a good thing and making your mum feel better is so important.

If you would like we could try and pass on your kind words to the crew. In order to do this I would just need some more information, specifically the date and location that we attended your mother and her name. If you wish for this to happen you can email these additional details to sas.feedback@nhs.scot and if you wouldn't mind making reference to your CareOpinion username then no matter what member of the team receives the email they will be able to link it back to this story.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and thanks again.

Alan

Dear RollyMaC

Thank you so much for getting in touch with this lovely feedback for the Links Medical Practice – they (especially Linda) will be delighted to know, at this busy time, that they are appreciated and that patients feel well cared for.

Most of the GP Practices in Grampian are independent contractors, with a separate complaints and feedback system. They are not registered to respond to feedback received through Care Opinion and don’t routinely access the feedback shared, but I have forwarded your feedback to the Practice Manager and if I hear back, I’ll share their thank you via this thread.

I hope everything is going well with your mum's care with the Stroke Service.

Take care,

Kirsten
