About: General practices in Fife

(as a service user),

I’ve been pretty unwell over the last few days with bronchitis and laryngitis, as well as problems with my breathing related to asthma. From my first phone call to the GP surgery to my last encounter to pick up a prescription, they have been nothing but helpful. I’ve received the best care and treatment, which I’m so grateful for, as they have been short staffed and operating a reduced service, which must be difficult at this busy time of year. From the receptionists to the nurse practitioner and the asthma nurse, they have all been wonderful and so helpful, making sure I got the treatment I required. Thank you so much!

Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion. NHS Fife welcomes all feedback. My name is Siobhan McIlroy, and I am the Head of Patient Experience. I am sorry for the delay in you receiving a response.

You must have felt awful with bronchitis, laryngitis, and asthma, especially over the festive season. There are so many respiratory bugs going about.

I am pleased to hear that every healthcare practitioner you met along your journey was "wonderful and helpful," you have received the best care and treatment despite staffing shortages.

I am sure everyone will be delighted to get such fantastic feedback. Please let me know which GP practice was involved in your care, and we can share your comments with them.
