Re Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport
My husband, in his seventies, was sent to A & E at Stepping Hill Hospital last Saturday suffering from suspected appendicitis. The wait in A & E was much less than what we expected because of the football match between England & France! The relevant investigations were done calmly & efficiently. He was admitted to the SSU Ward later in the evening having had a CT scan to confirm the diagnosis. The staff were caring & considerate & made time to explain the situation & what would happen.
Due to emergencies he was not able to have the operation on Sunday but the reasons were explained by the very busy surgeon. The operation was performed on the Monday & the care in the ward was excellent.
My husband was then moved to Ward D26 where the care continued.
I cannot praise the surgeon, nursing staff & those working on the wards enough. We hear so much about the faults of the NHS. They were not obvious in this case.
Many thanks.
"Excellent care & nursing"
