I very suddenly became very ill with a serious respiratory infection. I couldn't move and found it hard to breathe.
I called NHS 24 and they advised me to call Mid Argyll Community Hospital A&E to be seen. I was welcomed really quickly by the loveliest person, checked over and admitted to the ward by a doctor. Both of these people were really professional and very quickly took the panic out of the situation for me.
I have to say that every single member of staff I met was truly wonderful and the word angel applies to every single one of them.
The ward was staffed by the most excellent team who worked so well together. Really busy but kind and thoughtful to everyone.
I also have to rate the food as excellent too. I began to obsess with looking forward to my meals, my cups of tea and biscuits which every time were a total delight.
My recovery was miraculous and I am sure they saved my life. I feel I have been given a second chance because of their compassionate, highly skilled care.
It has given me a personal insight into how amazing our NHS is and how precious it is. In my view, all of our NHS staff deserve a decent pay rise. Without them where on earth would we be?
Thanks you to all the staff at Mid Argyll Community Hosptal
