"Waiting Times"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I came off birth control 2 years ago to start a family. Unfortunately, my body has not gone back to its normal state. I was diagnosed with PCOS where they referred me to the Gynae Department at Tameside Hospital. They originally advised that the wait would be 6 weeks.

I have been waiting for 39 weeks at the moment. I ring to check and they just advise I just need to wait and this is all they can do. So frustrating, as I am struggling and want to start a family!

I am sorry to read about your experience relating to the waiting time for an appointment with the Gynaecology department at Tameside and Glossop ICFT. Unfortunately, we have experienced some increases in waiting times within our Gynaecology Department, which is also being experienced nationally. So that we can review your appointment details, please contact the PALS and Complaints Team on 0161 922 4466 or palsandcomplaints@tgh.nhs.uk and we can provide assistance to you in relation to this.
