"Parkinson's care"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Neurology (Brain, Spinal and Nerves) General Practices in Grampian

(as a relative),

Day 1 - my sister's Parkinson's deteriorates

Day 2 - she calls and leaves a message with the Parkinson's nurse

Day 4 - she manages to speak to her GP.  They have to get in touch with her consultant regarding changing her treatment

Day 11 - she calls and leaves another message with the Parkinson's nurse

Day 12 - she calls her GP's surgery who inform her that they have not yet heard back from the hospital

Day 15 - she finally hears back from the Parkinson's nurse who discusses her case with the consultant and informs her that her medication will be altered

Day 19 - she checks with her GP's surgery who inform her that they have had no word back from the hospital

Day 22 - her GP is in contact to say that they have now heard back from the hospital re a switch in her medication

Day 26 - her new medication is finally delivered

In this era of electronic communication and a designated specialist nurse, why does it take this long for a simple tweak in medication?
