"Cancelled surgery during admission "

I arrived in good time for my planned surgery and was just finishing off being admitted when someone barged in front of the nurse dealing with me to say there was a problem.

Apparently they did not have an anaesthetist that day. They didn’t want to phone me earlier or avoid me going to the hospital as they were hoping to find a replacement before my operation. This obviously this didn’t happen so I was sent home with them saying the would reschedule assuring me that I would be back within weeks rather than months.

I hadn’t heard anything by the end of the week so I phoned them to find out what was going on. I was then told my operations had been rescheduled for in 3 months time!

Due to this I have suffered loss of earning due to attending hospital for the day only to be sent home, I incurred unnecessary travel costs, lost future earning from jobs I had to cancel and cannot reschedule and I’m unable to change my payment plans with creditors due to them already being in place.

If that’s not bad enough, I now have to lose most of that again at a time when I should have been going back to work, just without a financial plan to get me through my impending sick leave.
