My very elderly mother was in Bournemouth hospital in September 2022 in OPAU ward 25 when both her hearing aids were lost & most importantly her husband’s (my dads) wedding ring which she wore for the last 10 years since he died. This wedding ring was of great sentimental value & I was referred to PALS for compensation. As you can imagine my very elderly mother is beside herself & all I have been told by PALS is that I need to buy some other jewellery & send them the receipt so they can re-imburse me. This is nonsense as all they would be doing is sending me money for something I have just bought & not compensating for the lost wedding ring!
My mum passed away last week so never got to see that ring again & I won’t have it now as the only next of kin it was left to me.
This a incredibly upsetting situation & I have numerous other things to take care of now so really would like this resolved as soon as possible.
Thank you
