"Care for my young son"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My young son was in hospital yesterday and told to continue with antibiotics for his tonsillitis. I was told if his condition worsened to phone back and I’d get 48 hour open access. I phoned as he is significantly worse tonight to be told he can’t come in and he’d have a lengthy wait in A&E. I am terrified about what might happen next but there is nobody to help. I am shocked, disappointed and angry at the level of care.

Dear DK

I am sorry to hear that your son continues to be unwell and we of course would want to ensure he has the appropriate clinical support.

Further information would be helpful to be able to review your attendance and be able to feedback to you and I would appreciate if you could contact Yvonne Ross our Patient Affairs Manager on 01698 366558. This will allow us to review, feedback, take any required action as well as take any appropriate learning

regards

Faith
