"Amazing from beginning to end"

About: Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital / Accident & Emergency (Emergency Care) Scottish Ambulance Service / Ambulance Control Centre Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a parent/guardian),

My son had a febrile seizure for the first time the other night. Everyone we dealt with from beginning to end was amazing. The lady who took my 999 call stayed on the phone with me until a paramedic had arrived (it only took 8 minutes from when we phoned), the paramedics put me at ease and were so lovely to my son, all the nurses and doctors at RACH were so friendly, kind and informative. It was a scary experience but I could not fault the service we received. Thank you so much.

Dear Taurus59

Thank you for your taking your time to share your Feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about your son having a seizure, this must have been completly terrifying, especially as this has never happened before. I am so happy to read the call handler stayed on the call with you until the crew arrived, this must have offered some comforting reassurance.

I am also pleased to read our crew put your mind at ease after getting there in good time. It sounds like everyone involved done a super job!

If you would like us to pass on your kind words to our staff, I can arrange this for you. If you would like this to happen, please may we ask you contact our Patient Experience Team at sas.feedback@nhs.scot with your son's name, date and address of where we attended. Please may we ask you make reference to your CareOpinion Username which will easily link to your story.

From all of us here at The Scottish Ambulance Service, we wish you and your son all the very best

Kind Regards

Lesley

Thanks so much for taking the time to contact Care Opinion to share your excellent feedback of the service you recently received in RACH. Staff really do appreciate getting positive feedback - it really shows them that the way they deliver their care really does makes a difference to families.

This type of feedback is always more pertinent when directed to the actual staff involved in the patients care. If you are happy to provide me with your child's name DOB and date they attended RACH to sue.danby@nhs.scot I will ensure this information is passed on to those staff.

I hope your son is now recovered from this episode and that you too have recovered from what must have been a very scary time.

Kind regards

Sue Danby
