"Amazing care when I needed it the most"

I was referred to the Derbyshire crisis team in November 2021 and I cannot fault the support I was offered.

I had recently moved to the area, so was referred by my previous community mental health team. The transfer of my care was seamless, and communication between all involved professionals meant I received the care I needed when I needed it.

Although the crisis team cannot guarantee that you will be visited by the same clinicians each, which I understand, those who visited me at home made me feel safe and supported. I went from feeling terrified about what was going on around me, to feeling more in control of my difficulties, and empowered to take the next steps in managing my mental health.

The handover to my new CPN went well and I was also in contact with a psychiatrist. I am now in a much better place, have been discharged by my CPN, and hope that I won't need the support of the crisis team again.

The crisis team gave me hope, and my local mental health team maintained that optimism.
