"Severe vertigo"

About: Falkirk Community Hospital / ReACH Falkirk Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Urgent Care Centre

(as the patient),

In June 2022 my GP referred me to Forth Valley Hospital, Critical care dept. with suspected vertigo. After tests the consultant referred me to Physiotherapy and was told that the crystals in my ear had moved. They gave me some BPPV self treatment exercises which helped but did not remove the problem permanently.

They also referred me to Jean at the Physio Gym at Falkirk Community Hospital. She started me on Vestibular rehabilitation exercises and lots of good advice on handling the problem. After five appointments my vertigo was completely under control my confidence has returned allowing me to go out alone. This is to thank Jean so very much and without this help at the Physio gym at Falkirk Community Hospital I would be still struggling with this condition. Thank you

Dear JanieTwins

We really appreciate that you have taken the time to share your encouraging story with us, regarding the treatment you received from Jean for your vertigo.

We are delighted that not only did you receive vestibular rehabilitation exercises and lots of good advice, but that your confidence has returned, allowing you to go out alone again.

Your thanks have been passed on to Jean.

Best wishes

Donna
