"Gynaecology pre and post op care"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49)

(as a service user),

Hi, I just wanted to write about a very positive experience of care that I have had whilst in ward 49, QEUH in Glasgow under the care of Dr Kuand and team. I had an elective procedure and the pre and post-operative care that I received was extremely patient orientated. Nurses were incredibly kind and caring and reassuring especially during my anxieties and tears! This including all staff nurses (Jacqueline and others whose names I’ve forgotten sorry), student nurses (Johanna) and auxillaries, cleaners and staff who gave our dinners, junior doctors, registars and consultants- Dr Kuand, Bhatti and the anaesthetist Dr Bolton. All lovely, despite being busy. The ward and bathrooms were exceptionally clean.

Good morning Redyt95

It is great to read that you had such a good experience when you came in for your elective procedure and that the staff were so supportive and caring. I hope you are now recovering well?. I shall pass on your lovely comments regarding the catering staff and the cleanliness of the ward and bathrooms to our facilities teams - it is very uplifting to get such positive feedback.

Dear redyt95

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Care Opinion.

Thank you very much for commenting on how well the Gynaecology multidisciplinary team met your needs during your recent episode of care whilst in Ward 49 at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. I am delighted to hear that you felt all aspects of your care were supported as this is a priority for us.

I have spoken to SCN Dunn and Dr Khaund who are absolutely delighted to receive this and will share with ALL of the team.

I hope you are doing well at this time and recovering from your surgery.

Best wishes

Isabel Traynor

Lead Nurse, Gynaecology
