My son has been on the waiting list to see CAMHS for 28 months now and still no sign of an appointment to be seen. He has had 1 video call (assessment) and they said he needs to be seen.
I have called multiple times, put an official complaint in, brought it up with my MSP and still nothing. He is getting worse, hearing voices, they tell him to kill himself, not eating, not communicating, very low mood, doesn't sleep, withdrawn. He doesn't leave his room. He is struggling in school to stay awake and to learn. No concentration at all. He has ASD and is already struggling with this.
Whenever I phone I get told he doesn't meet the criteria. What criteria do they mean? My son is struggling, myself and his dad are struggling to help him. Even our GP is saying they can't help. I understand the NHS is under pressure (I work for the NHS) but surely there is something that can be done.
I feel so let down and at a complete loss on how to help my little boy. He is asking for someone to help him. He is tormented with his head, it never stops. We have put all sharps, tablets etc away just in case. This isn't the way a child should live.
