"They've made this journey easier"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Ear, Nose & Throat / Audiology Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / General Surgery Woodend Hospital / Pre-operative Assessment Clinic

(as a service user),

I was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. The secretary (Shona, ENT department, Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen) of my surgeon and endocrinologist has made this journey easier since diagnosis till now. I am going for an operation again in December for another tumour and she has helped with all the communications (questions I had) with my surgeon and endocrinologist. I strongly feel the exceptional service and care provided by Shona should be praised and highlighted here. Thank you Shona.

Dear Rumana,

Thank you for taking the time to share such positive feedback about the help Shona has given you since your cancer diagnosis in 2018. I'm heartened to hear how having a consistent, and helpful, point of contact throughout your journey has made things easier.

Shona has received your feedback and although she modestly said she was 'just doing her job', she was touched you had shared a thank you and greatly appreciated knowing she had made a difference.

I hope your treatment is going well and that your operation this month is successful.

Take care,

Kirsten
