"Fabulous Elsie App service"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Vascular Surgery (Ward 8)

(as a service user),

I'm going to be having a procedure done at the start of December. The vascular theatre scheduler, Debbie, was extremely helpful whenever I needed to call her. She also sent me information about the Elsie App that the pre-assessment team are using.

I downloaded the App onto my phone, using the login details that had been sent to me, and started reading the information and filling out the required forms. I loved that I could do this on my phone as it meant that I could answer questions in my own time. The App sends a reminder if there are other forms to complete, which is great. There is also a messaging service where the pre-assessment team contact me with further information or answer any questions I may have. They have always responded promptly.

I do have a face-to-face pre-assessment appointment next week, for things like ECG, X-ray and bloods, but I'm expecting that it will not take too long, as they will already have most of the information from me in the App.

The Elsie App is a fab service! I've been really pleased with it. It's easy to use and very intuitive. The reminders are timely and the responses to messages are prompt. Thank you.

DearViv1crisp

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback regarding the Elsie App service. I was really interested to read your comments as the detail that you have provided helps us reflect and learn about current practice and plan for the future.

As Karen has said, Debbie and the team will be pleased to read your comments as it is important that we learn from those that are using the App and how it aids communication.

Thank you again for taking the time to do this.

Best wishes for the next steps in your care journey.

Lise
