Anything else?
Before having a Standard one day Hernia operation at Tameside Hospital I was concerned about general rumours that staff were more than poor. I went for my pr-op and was reassured that papers and people are wrong and that I was in the best care. I was all so told that after some time there would be little if no scaring. I arrived at the hospital at 8:30am for my operation and waited around until 4:30pm with out any food or water in a gown stuck on a bed behind a curtain. I was in aware I would be waiting so long otherwise I'd of brought a book or at least something to entertain me. At 4:30pm I got dressed and decided to go home and book for another day after all my hernia was causing no discomfort it was a procedure that needed to be done before it became an issue. Upon walking out a nurse calmed me down and hey presto the surgeons were ready for me. I remember the doctors (three of them) having a giggle as the needle they just stuck in my tap began to take effect as I counted down from 20. They were mocking the fact that this one tried to do a runner at the last minute. Over a year later my scar is still very visible and thicker at one end. It's sometimes uncomfortable. I will never use that hospital again and I recommend other people not too.
