"Planned Investigation Unit"

About: The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)

Anything else?

I had an urgent two week referral at Princess Royal Hospital and had to attend an ultrasound before attending the Planned Investigation Unit in the afternoon. What a complete difference the Departments are. Within the Ultrasound Department I couldn't have been treated by a more callous person who had no sympathy or understanding the fact that I was terrified of my results. As my daughter came in with me, my daughter was trying to reassure me to be told we had 'put her off by talking' and that she had to start again. No compassion, no kindness whatsoever, however when I attended the Planned Investigation unit we couldn't have been greeted with better staff. They were all absolutely lovely and treated me with understanding. I was treated quickly and reassured within a matter of minutes and my outcome was great, but there was one lady in particular who was absolutely lovely and I intend to take her in some chocolates for her wonderful kindness throughout my ordeal. It is such a shame the ultrasound lady ruined my morning.

What a contrast! I am so pleased that you had a reassuring experience in the Planned Investigation Unit but very disappointed to hear that you found the ultrasonographer to be unsympathetic. I have shared this with the team as a learning opportunity.
